Ski rental Cervinia: prices, gear, where to rent

Team Sharepact·October 1, 2026·5 min read

Ski rental Cervinia usually costs €20–35 a day for a full set with skis, boots and poles, and €90–150 for a week. We’re in the Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche (Matterhorn Ski Paradise) ski area, in Aosta Valley. If you ski one or two weeks a year, renting costs less than buying from the first trip, and it saves you the hassle of transporting your gear.

How much does ski rental Cervinia cost

These are the rates you’ll find at the foot of the pistes. Price depends mostly on the gear tier: a basic set and a top-end one can differ by twenty euros a day. Most shops drop their rates from the third day, which is why a week costs less than five single days.

Breuil-Cervinia’s ski area

Breuil-Cervinia is part of the Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche (Matterhorn Ski Paradise) ski area: 19 lifts, 157 km of pistes, from 2,050 to 3,480 metres. The season usually runs from late October to early May.

The Italian side has 157 km of pistes between the village at 2,050 metres and the 3,480-metre Plateau Rosà.

It’s linked ski-in ski-out to Zermatt: together they form the Matterhorn Ski Paradise, with summer skiing on the glacier.

The pass covering Zermatt costs €88 a day against €64 for the Italian side alone.

The adult day pass in peak season runs around €64, on top of the rental when you tally up the day. Many ski areas use dynamic pricing: buying online a few days ahead usually costs less than at the ticket office that morning. Current rates here.

When to ski in Breuil-Cervinia

With lifts reaching 3,480 metres, Breuil-Cervinia holds its snow even when lower resorts are struggling. This is the place to book ahead in December and March, the two months when other resorts are most exposed.

The week between Christmas and Epiphany is when rental shops run out of the most requested sizes, especially men’s boots in sizes 42 to 44 and anything for kids. If you’re skiing then, book your gear when you book your accommodation. In January, outside weekends, you’ll find everything with no queue and often at a lower rate.

What gear to get

With 157 km of linked pistes, you’ll rack up serious distance here: an all-round piste ski, not too short, holds up best over a full day of traverses. If you’re aiming to do the full loop, start early and keep an eye on the closing time for the lifts back.

Boots matter more than skis. The wrong boot ruins your week; a mediocre ski just slows it down. Try them on with the socks you’ll actually wear, walk around the shop for a few minutes and check your heel stays put without your toes hitting the front. If they hurt by midweek, go back to the shop: swapping them is almost always free.

A helmet usually isn’t included and costs €3–5 a day. It’s compulsory on Italian slopes for anyone under 18, so factor it in from the start.

Daily or seasonal rental for kids

If your child skis more than two weeks a season, seasonal rental works out cheaper. It typically runs €150–300 for an adult and less for kids, with size swaps included through the winter. For a foot that grows two sizes between December and March, it’s the only option that makes sense: buy skis for an eight-year-old and you’ll be buying them again at nine.

Skis sitting idle eight months a year

If you own a decent set, it sits in the cellar all summer. Rented out, it earns €250–600 a season, with verified ID and insurance included on every rental.
