About Sharepact
Sharepact is a marketplace where people and shops rent out the things they own to people nearby: bikes, skis, tools, cameras, party gear, baby equipment and more. It is operated by Sharepact Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with its office at 5 Cavell St, Whitechapel, London E1 2BP. The app is on the App Store, the website is in English, Italian and French.
What we do
Most objects in a home are used a few days a year. A drill runs for minutes over its whole life, a pair of skis for ten days a winter, a bouncy castle twice. Sharepact lets the owner earn from those idle days and lets the person who needs the object for a weekend avoid buying it.
Shops use the same platform to rent their stock to walk-in customers without paperwork, and to appear in the searches of people looking for a rental near them.
How a rental works
Every person on Sharepact passes an identity check before their first rental. Every rental is covered by damage insurance. Payments go through the platform and are released to the owner after handover, so nobody hands over an object against a promise. If something goes wrong, there is a dispute process with photos taken at pickup and return.
The blog
The guides on this site are written by Team Sharepact and cover what people actually search for before renting: prices by category and city, what to check at pickup, when renting beats buying, seasonal demand. Figures are market ranges we verify against listings and shop price lists; when a figure comes from Google Trends or another source, the article says so.
